BRIDE'S BEAUTY CARE
Too often brides wake up on their wedding day and find that they did not prepare themselves as well as they could have. She finds that her hair is not as beautiful as she wants and her nails are in need of a manicure. Careful planning would eliminate much of the problems.
Start off by getting enough rest. Don't start the day tired or exhausted by having had to do so many things the day before because you waited until the last minute. Experiment with your hair and make-up well in advance. Don't even consider any major changes in your hair and make-up at the last minute.
If you plan a "new look" try it out before the wedding so that if its not what you want, you can change it. Confide in your hairdresser and make-up expert - look at magazines, then determine what you want. Any changes you do will be what you have to live with so be certain if it's what you want. This is one time of your life to use experts. But guard well against the tendency to go with fads of "in-styles" because nothing will date your photographs more than out-of-style hair-dos and make-up. The best looks are those which appear the most natural because they are timeless and never go out of style. Select a hairstyle that will look good from many angles - not just one angle. Select a style that will stay reasonably manageable - not one that will fall apart half way through your day.

YOUR MAKEUP
No amount of makeup will substitute for plenty of rest. Be sure to get enough rest so you won't look tired and drawn.
Foundation
Use a foundation or medicated make-up to cover any flaws or dark circles under your eyes if you have them. Avoid too much make-up or you will lose a natural look. Stage make-up is used under heavy and very intense lights. Unless you are going to have similar circumstances of actual theater or movie lights, heavy make-up is probably not for you. Make sure to blend your make-up evenly on your face and down to your neck, and onto your shoulders and chest too, if your gown features bare shoulders or décolletage. If corrective measures are necessary, they can be taken with lights or darker shades.
Rouge or Blusher
A little rouge or blusher can add a spark of life but keep your make-up on the light side so you won't have blotches of red on your f ace and look like a clown.
Lipstick
A soft pastel lipstick usually looks and photographs best in a white wedding gown. For a moist look, you could use a lip gloss if you like. Try not to use a pearlized shade or your lips will appear white. Too dark a shade will give you that "over made-up" look.
Nails
Don't paint your nails with any unusual or fad-style colors. Keep in mind that some colors will tend to make your hands appear ghoulish and weird looking.
Color of ?make-up
Watch your skin tones and match it up with a make-up that will enhance your skin tones. Keep in mind the overall effect you want to project and how your make-up must balance with the rest of your outfit, for example, if you are wearing an ivory dress, it may give a yellowish cast to your skin. You may want to stay away from a beige tint make-up and use a pink one instead.
Eyes
Whether you normally use it or not in the daytime, correct eye makeup is a "must" when you want them accented and have them stand out. Of course, you don't want to overdo it and end up looking like Rocky Raccoon, but eyes without makeup will lack definition and will not stand out. Define your eyebrows with a sharp pencil using short feather strokes following the natural arch. Then brush the outer tips for a natural-looking effect. Apply mascara to both upper and lower lashes sparingly and with smooth, sweep strokes. Eye shadow should always be light.

A final suggestion.
Start your hair and make-up program at least a month before your wedding day so that on your day, you will be totally confident and secure in your appearance.
If you are planning to have your hair done, do it the day before, or if it is on the day of the wedding, make sure you give yourself lots of time and not place added pressure on you.
Your make-up should be easy to find and ready to apply whether by you or by an expert.
Your nails should be manicured by you or a manicurist the day before the wedding. You can do any necessary patch-up work in the morning. If you have your nails done by a professional, make sure you have a matching color for home use.
Again, the best favor you can do for yourself is begin preparing ahead of time so that on your wedding day, all you need do is feel great and look beautiful.
